How do I choose a Child to Sponsor?

You will find pictures of REACH children in need of sponsors on our “Children you can sponsor” post.  Please choose “Sponsor Now” to fill out your child’s sponsorship form and choose your method of payment. Once the form is filled out and sent, copies go to Fred Tumwebaze in Africa and our administration office. Sponsors should print out form and mail to REACH’s US address in Fort Worth, Texas (below). If paying my paypal, the cost of sponsorship is $21 for children.

What is Child Sponsorship?

Child sponsorship is a means of providing for each child one sponsor who will pay for their school uniform, books, pencils, and paper. And, in addition to all of the school fees, the child is provided one hot meal a day and assigned a social worker that tends to his or her medical needs. The cost to sponsor one child is only $20 per month.

Since each child has only one sponsor, Reach encourages a relationship to be built between sponsor and child. The children will only be able to send one letter per year, usually at Christmas. They will also send a thank you note for any gifts received. Since Reach is required to pay the post office a small tariff at pick up, packages must be limited to one per year. To avoid tariffs, sponsors are encouraged to give designated gifts (for shoes, clothing, etc.) in the form of donations which will be bought by the child’s social worker in Uganda.

All packaged gifts and letters from the sponsor should be addressed to:

Rescue African Children
P. O. Box 804
Jinja, Uganda
Africa

All cash donations for designated gifts, and monthly sponsorship fees should be sent to:

Rescue African Children

PO Box 7660

Moreno Valley,  CA  92552

Please note:

  • Paypal is available online, but please include the 3% surcharge to cover fees. That would be $21 for child sponsorship and $42 for pastor sponsorship.
  • Automatic deduction is not available yet, so sponsors are encouraged to use their own bank’s automatic bill pay to ensure a regular monthly payment received before the 10th of each month.
  • An email reminder, which includes our newsletter, is available by postal mail or email. We encourage our sponsors to choose email to keep our costs down. Everyone associated with REACH in the US are volunteers keeping administration costs to less than 1%.
  • We are registered in Uganda as a Community Based Organization and asked by the Government to operate under Reg. No 120480
